A man was taken into police custody after allegedly shooting a victim in her jaw during the predawn hours Friday, and barricading himself inside a building in the Lincoln Square neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 2200 block of West Carmen Avenue and found two males and female exiting a residence. The female victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the jaw and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she was listed in fair condition, police said.
An investigation revealed she was shot by a known offender who had barricaded himself inside of the residence, police said. The SWAT team responded to the scene.
