There also was a risk for thunderstorms Saturday afternoon, mainly west and south of Chicago due to a cold front hovering south across the area, officials said. Breezy northeast winds behind the cold front were expected to bring waves on southern Lake Michigan in Illinois and Indiana starting Saturday afternoon into the night, officials said.

Rain and thunderstorms were expected to spread across the area, generally south of I-80 from late Saturday morning into the afternoon. Local heavy rainfall is expected in some areas which could lead to flooding, officials said.
