BetMGM bonus code: $1.1K deposit match or automatic bonus bets for NBA, other sports on Thursday

There are three main BetMGM bonus codes available for new users on Thursday -- a $1.1K deposit match, or $100 in bonus bets when you bet $10 on any MLB or NBA moneyline (you’ll get $200 in Mass. and Ohio). New York and Washington D.C. are not eligible for any sign-up offer.

Here are the three bonuses:

  • BetMGM bonus code TRIBUNEMLB: This exclusive promotion offers new users up to $200 in bonus bets in Massachusetts and Ohio when they place a $10 MLB moneyline wager. Other states will get $100 in bonus bets instead of $200.
  • BetMGM bonus code TRIBUNENBA: This NBA promotion is similarly structured, as it gives new users up to $200 in bonus bets when they place a $10 moneyline bet on any NBA playoff game in Mass. and Ohio. Other states will get $100.
  • BetMGM bonus code TRIBUNEMATCH: This exclusive deposit match, which is legal in every BetMGM state except New York and Washington D.C., gives new users a deposit match up to $1,100.

First, we’ll explain the deposit match. Since this is a 20 percent deposit match, users need to put in $5,500 to get the full deposit match amount. There is an additional 10x rollover bonus so users would have to bet 10 times their bonus to get the complete amount. For example, if a user deposits $3,000 they’ll get $600 back in bonus bets. Similarly, if a user puts in $4,000, they’ll get $800 in bonus bets deposited into their account.

How to bet with the BetMGM bonus code on Thursday

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets

The Lakers face off against the top-seeded Nuggets for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on ESPN Thursday night.

LA will be looking to rebound from the tough Game 1 loss and steal one before heading back home for the next two games. They’ll have their work cut out for them though as Jokic and company appeared to be firing on all cylinders in the first matchup.

Game 1 was, somewhat surprisingly, fast-paced and high-scoring. Denver jumped out to a 12-point lead in the first quarter and carried that momentum through the second with another 30-plus-point quarter. LA responded well though, winning the third narrowly and outscoring Denver in the fourth as well.

Both teams shot very well in the first game, with each squad hovering around 54 percent from the field and 45 percent from three. The Lakers shot four more free throws and posted a higher percentage from the line, but beyond that most of the team stats were fairly even, with two notable exceptions: rebounding and turnovers.

Denver won the rebounding battle handily, gathering 15 offensive rebounds — compared to LA’s five — and capitalizing on the extra possessions. There’s only so much that can be done with Jokic but for the Lakers to take this series, they’ll need those numbers to be a lot closer.

Despite winning on the glass, the Nuggets had 11 turnovers compared to the Lakers’ seven. Neither number is high enough to fully swing the game but if Denver isn’t careful with the ball, LA will find a way to make them pay.

Aaron Gordon is an interesting option for player props here. He’s been helpful for the Nuggets on both ends of the floor this season but will be asked to do a lot in this series as he’s matched up with LeBron. He had 12 points, three assists and three rebounds in Game 1 and it’s unlikely that he’ll best those numbers. Fade Gordon at 15.5 and under. He’s doing a lot on the defensive end and doesn’t matchup well on the offensive side as the Lakers collapse the paint, which is where he gets most of his buckets.

The Nuggets are 5.5-point favorites with the total at 226.5. While both teams were scoring incredibly well in the first game, there will be a bit of a drop-off in the second one. Bet the under here as neither team will be as efficient as the first game.

BetMGM promos, explained

BetMGM’s current promotional situation is a bit different from other sportsbooks because there is one general offer and two sport-specific offers. The three offers for new customers to choose are based on where users are betting from, what sport they’re betting on and how much they’re betting.

The deposit match bonus — which is currently available in 17 states — gives users 20 percent of their initial deposit back in bonus bets, capped at $1,100. The NBA and MLB promotions gives users $100 in bonus bets when they place either a team moneyline wager on an MLB squad or any moneyline bet on an NBA playoff game.

Additionally, users in Ohio and Massachusetts will get $200 in bonus bets with the NBA offer.

New players can claim the deposit match offer, which is legal in every BetMGM state except New York and Washington D.C., by using the module above and deploying the bonus code TRIBUNEMATCH while signing up.

From there, they can get 20 percent of their deposit matched by the sportsbook.

The MLB exclusive is a bit different. New users will get $100 in bonus bets when they place a team moneyline wager of at least $10. This offer is available in every BetMGM state except Massachusetts, Ohio and New York. New bettors can easily claim this offer by clicking the module below and using the bonus code TRIBUNEMLB at sign up.

The NBA exclusive is structured similarly. New users can get $100 in bonus bets when they put a real-money wager of at least $10 on any NBA playoff game. Like the deposit match promotion, this offer is legal in every BetMGM state except New York and Washington D.C. New users can easily claim this offer by using the bonus code TRIBUNENBA when signing up for a BetMGM Sportsbook account.

All of these promotions mention bonus bets in some capacity. In all three offers, bonus bets serve as credits for additional wagers but cannot be withdrawn or cashed out. Similarly, bonus bets are only valid for one wager each and thus will not be returned in the event of a successful wager.

Another critical note, bonus bets are not distributed at a 1:1 ratio but rather proportionally based on how much the user bets.

For example, if a new users wagers $50 or more in cash, they’ll get up to five bonus bets of equivalent value. So, if the player is getting $500 back in bonus bets, they’ll get five bonus bets each equal to $100. If the user is getting $1,000 back they’ll get five bonus bets equal to $200 a piece.

However, if the users places a wager of less than $50, they’ll get one bonus bet equal to the value of their stake.
