BetMGM bonus code TRIBUNEMGM earns $1k offer for Saturday NBA, all sports

Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole (3) shoots over Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray in the second half of an NBA basketball game in Sacramento, Calif., Friday, April 7, 2023. The Warriors won 119-97.

The BetMGM bonus code TRIBUNEMGM unlocks a generous first-time offer for new BetMGM users. New players will get their complete stake back — limited at $1,000 — if their first wager goes south when they sign up with that bonus code. If you put down $500 on the Warriors to cover against the Kings on Saturday night and they don’t, you’ll get $500 in bonus bets.

Additionally, BetMGM has two sport-specific offers for new users looking for a lower-risk offer. Thus, there are three promotional options for new users at BetMGM:

  • BetMGM bonus code TRIBUNEMLB: This exclusive promotion, which is live in every BetMGM state except New York and Washington D.C., offers new users up to $200 in bonus bets when they place a $10 MLB moneyline wager.
  • BetMGM bonus code TRIBUNENBA: This NBA exclusive is similarly structured, as it gives new users up to $200 in bonus bets when they place a $10 team moneyline wager. This promotion is only live in Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Louisiana, Ohio and Massachusetts.
  • BetMGM bonus code TRIBUNEMGM: This evergreen offer gives new users their complete stake back — limited at $1,000 — if their first bet goes south. This promotion is available in every BetMGM state except New York and Washington D.C. and can be used on any sport or game.

If you’re unclear about the logistics of these offers, or are just looking for a preview of Saturday night’s best bets, don’t worry we’ll outline the nature of each offer and provide some helpful tips for betting this weekend.

How to use the BetMGM promo code on Saturday

Golden State Warriors vs. Sacramento Kings

The Warriors go north to the Golden 1 Center for Game 1 of this Western Conference series on ABC.

These two teams have very similar styles and are very familiar with one another. Both teams like to get up and run the floor, the Warriors have been well-known for their offensive prowess for years but the Kings were successful this year by adapting a similar strategy: run opponents out of the gym.

During the four regular season matchups between the Kings and the Dubs this year, they averaged just over 234 points in total.

There are some key matchups to take a look at, specifically down low with Domantas Sabonis and Kevon Looney, as well as some worthwhile player props with the guards.

Before getting to that though, we need to discuss defense.

Surprising, given the nature of both teams but there are some relevant defensive factors. First, since the All-Star break, Sacramento has given up the third-lowest points off turnovers and the fewest points off fast breaks. Both of these factors bode poorly for the Warriors as they rely on turnovers to jump-start their offense when the half-court sets don’t work out and the fast break buckets are always a huge factor for Golden State.

That being said, the Warriors defensive rating since the All-Star break was 111.6 which was tied with the Cavaliers for the seventh-best in the league.

While these two teams were offensive powerhouses this year, defense always plays a bigger factor in the postseason than the regular season and given the familiarity between these two, it will be huge in Saturday’s matchup.

An additional factor is home-court advantage for the Kings. They haven’t been to a playoff series in nearly two decades, so the beam will indeed be lit and the Warriors haven’t played especially well on the road this year.

A huge factor for the Dubs is the return of Andrew Wiggins. He’s a critical part of their rotation on both ends. He helps space the floor on offense as he’s a constant slashing threat and he’s one of the best perimeter defenders in the league when healthy.

The Kings are -1 favorites with the total at 238.5. The total seems on par for how these teams play so there’s not a lot of value there. Frankly, though, that spread is close and given the Warriors experience, it’s prudent to take Golden State to cover.

Regardless this one should be one of the most exciting first-round series.

If you’re interested in player props, look at Kevon Looney for rebounds and assists. He’s averaged 16.5 RA against Sacramento this year and most books have that currently at 12.5.

Additionally, Jordan Poole has been somewhat quieter lately but he has shown he can perform well in the playoffs, look for him to make at least three threes in this one as Wiggins will help the spacing and allow for some good looks.

BetMGM promos, explained

BetMGM’s promotional situation is a bit different from other books. As noted above, there are currently three offers that new users can choose from based on the sport they intend to wager on and the location they are betting from.

The first offer, or evergreen offer, is live in every BetMGM state except New York and Washington D.C. This promotion works as first bet insurance, with users recouping their entire stake in the event of a losing wager. The two sport-specific offers give new users the same amount back in bonus bets when they place a qualifying wager on a team moneyline.

As mentioned above, that evergreen offer gives new users their complete stake back in bonus bets — limited at $1,000 — if their first wager doesn’t win. New BetMGM players can access this promotion with the bonus code TRIBUNEMGM.

The MLB exclusive gives new users $200 in bonus bets when they place at least a $10 team moneyline wager. This offer is live in every BetMGM state except New York and Washington D.C. New users can claim this promotion by inputting the bonus code TRIBUNEMLB at sign up.

Finally, BetMGM’s NBA special offer generates up to $200 in bonus bets for new users when they place a $10 wager on any team moneyline. This offer is only live in Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Louisiana, Ohio and Massachusetts. New players can claim this promotion by using the bonus code TRIBUNENBA when signing up.

Critically, all three offers mention bonus bets in some capacity. These bonus bets work as credits for additional wagers but cannot be withdrawn or cashed out.

Any bonus bets earned from the evergreen promotion will generally be distributed 72 hours after the qualifying settles and will remain valid for up to seven days following distribution.

Bonus bets will not be distributed at a 1:1 ratio but rather proportionally based on the users qualifying bet. If a new user places a qualifying wager of $50 or more, they’ll get up to five bonus bets of equal value. Conversely, if a new user places a qualifying wager of less than $50, they’ll get one bonus bet equal to their initial stake.

If a user is getting $500 back in bonus bets, they’ll get five bonus bets equal to $100 each. If a new user is getting $1,000 back in bonus bets, they’ll get five bonus bets equal to $200 each.
