Fanatics Sportsbook promo: Beta offer gives MA, MD, OH and TN bettors up to $200 and early access

The sports apparel giant Fanatics is getting into the sports betting market with their beta app in four select states. Bettors in Massachusetts, Maryland, Ohio and Tennessee can get $200 and early app access.

While the upstart book is only available in these four states currently, Fanatics has plans to expand into three additional states by the fall (and nine more states by May 2024) as part of an industry-shaking deal with PointsBet U.S.

The structure of this promotion is a bit different from other welcome offers and we’ll go into more detail about the critical conditions in the paragraphs below, but essentially desktop users will be asked to fill out a brief survey before they get access to the app.

Mobile users will not have to fill out the survey, but both types of users will be able to place wagers and bet on the app as they would with any other sportsbook.

Early access for Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio and Tennessee

Despite the term “beta” this offer and the Fanatics Sportsbook more generally, functions like any other bet and get promotion from any other sportsbook.

As opposed to some books that give new users a kind of first bet insurance, where their initial wager has to settle as a loss for players to get any bonus bets, players will get their bonus bets as soon as they sign up with this one.

As soon as players place a small qualifying wager, of $5, they’ll $200 in bonus bets.

So, this is one of the few promotions where players can both win their bets and get some additional bonus bets.

Oakland A’s vs. Detroit Tigers

The A’s travel north to Detroit for the first matchup of a three-game series with the Tigers.

The A’s have historically been one of the MLB’s worst teams, this season hasn’t been much different.

There have been occasional glimmers of talent from Oakland but they’re still last in the stacked AL West and need more consistency from both their pitching and batting to really make a move.

The Tigers, meanwhile, have slowed a bit as they currently sit in third in the AL Central and have dropped some easy games lately.

Detroit has had no issues hitting the ball, but has struggled to close out teams. Their starting pitching has been okay but the relief hasn’t picked up the slack and, as such, they’ve let teams claw back into games they should’ve won otherwise.

Tarik Skubal will take the mound for Detroit. He’s untested this season so this could be a good chance to focus on command and get an early win.

Oakland has played poorly on the road this year and Detroit can be a difficult matchup when they’re hitting well, so it may be a long day for the A’s.

Overall, Detroit is a -174 favorite with the O/U at 8.5. Despite the totals going lower in lots of Oakland games, this one will be mostly Detroit and as such, bet the over here as the Tigers will get a relatively easy home win.

Fanatics Sportsbook sign-up details

The sign-up process with Fanatics is a bit different, but no more complex, than other sportsbooks.

While the term “beta” can imply an unfinished or developing product, that is not the case here. The current iteration of Fanatics Sportsbook is very similar to what the finalized version will look like but, due in large part to state regulations around betting, the app is still technically in the beta stage.
