FanDuel Sportsbook promo: get $150 in bonus bets for NBA Sunday, other sports

Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry (30) reacts after getting the three-point basket and the foul while playing the Sacramento Kings during the second quarter of Game 3 of the NBA Western Conference first-round playoffs at the Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif., on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

The current FanDuel promotion generates up to $150 in bonus bets for new users when they place a $5 wager on any sport.

As opposed to other welcome offer a “first bet on the house” wager, users will get these bonus bets regardless of the status of their qualifying wager, and will naturally keep their profits and the stake from their initial wager if they win.

Some readers may be curious as to why the value of this promotion is significantly lower than FanDuel’s previous “No Sweat First Bet” offer. These promotions work a bit differently. The No Sweat First Bet offer functions as insurance on a new user’s first bet. New players can get their complete stake back in bonus bets — usually up to $1,000 — if their first wager goes south.

If you put $200 down on the Warriors against the Kings and Golden State lost, you’d get $200 in bonus bets.

However, the “bet $5, get $150″ FanDuel promotion generates those bonus bets for new users as soon as they place the qualifying wager.

In the paragraphs below, we’ll explain the relevant conditions for this promotion, which is live in every FanDuel state, and preview the best NBA bets for Sunday.

FanDuel ‘bet $5, get $150′ promotion

This new FanDuel offer is notably different from other welcome offers or the previous FanDuel evergreen promotion.

Most new customer promotions are structured as insurance with new users getting their stake back in bonus bets if their first wager doesn’t hit.

However, this promotion — which as noted is live in every FanDuel state — generates $150 in bonus bets for new users as soon as they place a $5 qualifying wager. Bonus bets however, cannot be withdrawn or cashed out.

So, if a new user places $100 bonus bet on the Kings at +260 against the Warriors and Sacramento wins, the user will pocket $260. Critically, the user will not get their stake back when they place a successful bonus bet wager because bonus bets are only valid for one wager.

This promotion does not require a promo code so users can simply click the module above and input their relevant information to claim this offer. Notably though, this promotion is limited to new customers who are at least 21 years old and in a legal FanDuel state.

How to use the FanDuel promo on Sunday

Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors

The Kings face off against the Warriors in Chase Center for a pivotal Game 4 on ABC Sunday afternoon.

Golden State bounced back from two close losses with an excellent performance in Game 3. They’ll need more of the same efficiency on offense and intensity on defense to get the best of Sacramento two games in a row.

The defense intensity was the key to the Game 3 victory for the Warriors. They held the hot Sacramento team to just 38 percent from the field and 23.4 percent from 3. It’s unlikely that they’ll be able to duplicate those numbers in Game 4 but it reveals a critical adjustment that Warriors coach Steve Kerr is likely focusing on over the weekend.

Additionally, the Warriors had just 11 turnovers compared with the Kings’ 15. When Golden State takes care of the ball, they’re still one of the best teams in the league. The Warriors also won the rebounding battle, which was a huge issue during the first two games.

Naturally, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are critical to Golden State’s success, but there was another critical helper in Game 3: Kevon Looney. The big man had a meager four points but collected 20 rebounds and had nine assists. They’ll need some similarly dominant games from him on the glass to come back in this series, but more on that below.

The Kings were successful through the first three games with physical defense and by capitalizing on turnovers. Sacramento will need to provide the youngster Keegan Murray with some help on the perimeter. He got worked over multiple times during the Warriors’ Thursday night win and while he’s certainly not a defensive liability, he can’t hang with Curry or Thompson.

If you’re interested in some player props, Curry is a solid option here. He’s been rebounding well and obviously his scoring is always solid. Look for him to go over on points and rebounds in Game 4.

Additionally, Looney is working on the glass and will undoubtedly continue to do so. Look for him to go over on rebounds again as the Kings don’t have an answer for him on the glass.

Overall, the Warriors are 7.5-point favorites with the total at 237. Despite how good both these teams are on offense, the total is very high in this one and there’s room for a play on the under based on how the Kings’ defense has played on the road this year.

Generally, though, the Warriors will take another one at home to even the series at two. Back Golden State on the moneyline.
