Lakers vs. Warriors predictions, odds: 2 top player props for Game 6

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (30) shoots against Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis, left, and guard Dennis Schroder (17) during the second half of Game 5 of an NBA basketball second-round playoff series Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in San Francisco.

Golden State battled back to force Game 6, so we have Warriors vs. Lakers predictions to share.

Specifically, I’m looking at the player prop market, backing one Lakers guard while fading a Warriors star.

Warriors vs. Lakers Best Player Prop Bet No. 1

Dennis Schroder over 10.5 points (-106) | Play to 10.5 (-110)

This is a great series to back Dennis Schroder.

Schroder is one of the quickest defensive guards on the Lakers, making him uber-important in stopping the Warriors’ quick-strike, perimeter-oriented attack. The Lakers have had to play Schroder a lot in this series, so he’s played over 60 minutes in the past two games.

As a result, Schroder is stuffing the stat sheet. He’s scored double digits in four of five games this series, including 14 in Game 5. He’s also had at least nine field-goal attempts over the past three games.

This is also a larger trend. Schroder has eclipsed 10 points in seven of eight games against Golden State this season, averaging 13.6 points across all outings. He topped out at 26 in a game in Oakland in February.

I’ve bet Schroder’s points prop in every game this series, and I refuse to stop now.

Warriors vs. Lakers Best Player Prop Bet No. 2

Stephen Curry under 32.5 points (-120) | Play to 30.5 (-110)

This is a good matchup to fade Steph Curry.

Curry has been solid this series, averaging 25.6 points per game while orchestrating the offense (eight assists per game).

However, the Lakers are good at defending the 3-point line, ranking third in 3-point percentage allowed this season. And they’ve continuously hounded Curry on the line, so he’s shot less than 38% from 3 during the series (he’s a career 42% 3-point shooter).

And as a result, Curry has fallen slightly short of expectations. In fact, he’s stayed under 32.5 points in all five games.

And Curry has fallen short in almost every matchup with the Lakers over the past two seasons. He’s eclipsed 32.5 points in just one of the past 10 matchups.

For reasons beyond me, Curry’s points prop has actually increased during this series. So, I’m happy to continue fading Curry at an even better price.
